Apple's new MacBook Air 13 M3 (2024) and MacBook Air 15 M3 (2024) finally introduce support for two external displays to the MacBook Air product line. Prior to this update, starting with the Air M1 version, MacBook Airs with Apple silicon only supported a single external display, posing a significant limitation for content creators and productivity enthusiasts aiming to leverage two large screens simultaneously. With the introduction of the M3 Air laptops, users can now connect two external displays, albeit with the laptop lid closed. However, it's worth noting that the built-in laptop screen cannot be utilized as a third display in this configuration.

It's important to note that despite the advancement in the MacBook Air M3 models, they still feature only two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Therefore, if you opt to connect two external displays, all available ports will be occupied. To extend your connectivity options, you can utilize USB-C hubs or the ports integrated into your external displays such as the 27" Apple Studio Display to connect additional accessories.

Price and Availability
Both the 13.6 inch and 15-inch versions of the Air M3 are available to pre-order and will start shipping on March 8th. The MacBook Air 13 M3 starts at $1,099 and comes with an 8-Core CPU, 8-Core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD whereas the Air 15 M3 starts at $1,299 and upgrades to a 10-Core GPU.
